Le Vignoble
The AOC ("Appellation d’origine contrôlée" which translates as controlled designation of origin) vineyard of the Domaine du Vistre (7 ha) is located in La Laune de Gallician, on sandstone hillsides bordered by the Rhone river.
It benefits from abundant sunshine, and is composed of the best varieties of the Appellation :
- syrah,
- grenache,
- mourvèdre.
The Vin de Pays vineyard (25 ha) is located along the Vistre river, over two different types of soil. Volcanic chalky clay subsoil favours local varieties of vines such as syrah and grenache, as well as emerging varieties : marselan and caladoc. Whereas merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc varieties of vine flourish in soil rich in limestone, sand and gravel.
Our wine Estate has also planted chardonnay to respond to a growing demand made by clients : first white wine blend announced for 2010.
The renovation and modernisation of wine-making equipment is a continuous process.
Understanding of the soil, yield control, use of the appropriate varieties of vine, and years of experience have allowed us to turn our production into high-quality wines.
